"Mark, how often do you eat healthy food?" "I sometimes eat healthy food."

Adverbs of frequency

We use adverbs of frequency to show how OFTEN we do something.
For example: "I always come to class on time" means that  I come to class on time every day.

Here are some common adverbs of frequency.

Always - Oumou always shops at Marks & Spencers. = 100%
Frequently or Usually - Sara usually shops at Morrisons. = 80%

Often - Bogumila often goes to the Polish shop in Cheetham Hill. = 70%

Sometimes - Mihret sometimes goes to the local shop to buy bread and milk. = 40-50%

Rarely, Seldom - Mark seldom goes shopping. He is very lazy. = 5-10%

Never - Maria never goes to Marks and Spencer to buy food, it's too expensive!. 0%

NOTE!

Rule: Adverbs of frequency (always, never, sometimes, often, etc.) usually come before the main verb
Example: He often eats burgers.    (often is the adverb and eats is the verb).
Xia rarely drinks vodka, he is very healthy.
We always go to the cinema on Friday night.
We never have a class on Thursdays.

NOTE!

o Adverbs of frequency  come after - the verb 'to be'.
o Example:   He is sometimes late for work.
